"Clinical and Radiographic Evaluation of Patients Receiving Gliadel® Wafers and Stereotactic Radiosurgery Boost with the Gamma Knife® in the Initial Treatment of Patients with Malignant Gliomas"

All patients will have up to 8 Gliadel® Wafers implanted at the time of initial surgery for a malignant glioma (anaplastic astrocytoma and glioblastoma multiforme or Grades III-IV astrocytoma).

If residual enhancing tumor is identified (and less than 4 cm in diameter) on the postoperative MRI, then that patient will receive a postoperative stereotactic radiosurgery boost with the Gamma Knife®.

All patients will receive conventional radiation therapy after radiosurgery is completed.
