Oligodendroglioma
|
Oligodendroglioma account for 10% of all glial tumors and generally present in the fourth decade. The spectrum of clinical behavior is similar to that of astrocytomas, though most tumors are well-differentiated (low-grade) and indolent. Seizures are very common and occur in up to 88% of patients. Surgical resection is generally indicated. A three-drug chemotherapy regimen consisting of procarbazine, CCNU and vincristine (PCV) has been shown to be an unusually effective adjuvant treatment in these tumors, especially those with a higher grade. |
